It's not all Jack

Every weekend I have planned to update the blog, but every weekend seemed to have flown by so quickly and it hasnt happened but what has happened is:

Halloween - really need so get some photos on here (will speak to technical expert when when he gets up). Jack and I dressed up - Jack wanted to go in the parade this year rather than just watch it so with 10 minutes to spare Jim did a scary face on a white sheet and with tiny peep holes and wearing all white underneath, it was amazingly effective. I nearly made a few kids cry - not on purpose but it was kind of cool to be anonymous (if incredibly hot) for a few hours. Jack was a scary skeleton and so we made a great pair.

Piano recital - Jack did so very well with his short piece for the piano - having never played on a grand piano before (they are learning on keyboards) and in front of about 30 people in a cramped living room so both the guitar and piano lessons will continue for next term as he is getting alot out of them.

What else........a day in hospital - Jack decided to get a gastro bug - but absolutely fine the next day (thank goodness) - little blighter...

Jacks Joeys - Matthew in Reading is in Beavers, the UK equiv and now the leaders from both groups are going to get a penpal list between them going on. Scouts had a sleep over and did a concert for the old folk the other week - Jim and I went out for a meal and I think I was the one to mention Jack but otherwise it was just talking - it gets to a point in a relationship when sometimes you think you have nothing new to talk about - this wasnt that time yet - it was a lovely weekend and Jack had a ball...picked him up the next day bubbling.

Yesterday was Jacks last day at school and his last day in Grade 2, new teacher next year and we are hoping for less concentration on faults and more of getting the best out of our little ants in his pants. Jack is getting there, its funnt how just a week or month can bring more maturity at this age. So 6 weeks off and a fresh start. They showed The Gringe in the park last night so with fish n chips in hand it was a lovely way to spend a cheap evening together.

Today we are going to get a family portrait done, its free and we get one photo for free...and it been a few years since we had one - couldnt get it last month Jim was taking part in the Movemeber (growing a mo for charity) - he looked so very 70's (in a weird way looked good but I am glad it is over - over 80 blokes in his work all did it...very funny).

Tomorrow we are going into the city for Jack to post his Father Christmas letter- they have a special post box in the city that Jack likes and its been ages since we have been in the city together - we have Jimmy arriving on Monday and it would have been good to leave it till then but they both head off to Tasmania on Wed so no time, not this side of the trip but we all come back from Sallys bus in the country on 26th Dec so they can do that kind of stuff then.

Lights are big over here- the electricity on Christmas decorations must be astounding - they put the lights up on 1 Dec here and as Jack wont be here we will let Jimmy and Jack do it before they go.

So 10 whole days without Jack - fine we will be at work for most of it but it will be nice not to have to rush home, to just do things spur of the moment but after 10 days we will miss them so we do join them all in Tassie eventually :-)

My new job...yeah still there - going ok - in that situation of small business - they know they need marketing but they dont actually really know what that means or what they want - so I am having the tough talk with them on Monday. They need to be clear in part because I really dont want to be looking for a new job again in 18 months time - a bit of stability would be lovely - thanks. But its good - they are both younger than me and they jump back and forth with each other with sarcasm and abuse (all in good fun) but it does sap the cheer out of me a bit - perhaps I just need to get used to it.

So Christmas is nearly here..... still cant get the same feel - just too damn hot - at least Tassie will be 20-24 rather than 29-24 degrees - might feel a bit more like it...... love and hugs to you all Have a Good One xxxx
