Surviving in the outback

Jack is on two weeks holidays so today at vacation club he is learning how to survive in the Outback - he was a bit concerned they might leave him there when Jim dropped him off but Jim confirmed that if they did he would slap their bottoms.........so I am off to collect him now so I will keep you posted on any useful hints and tips he might have picked up assuming Jim doesnt have to go in and slap their bottoms :-)

PS Just to confirm they werent actually going into the Outback, more like the Outback coming to them so he will be ok - just in case you were concerned......

I have found this video of my finish in the recent Suncorp Bridge To Brisbane Race. http://webcast.trcsasia.com/au/suncorp/b2b2008/start.php?id=14181

See if you can see me (left hand side, white hat, near the end of the clip), or maybe even somebody else you know...

There were 26359 people running in the 10km run – out of that I came 14754th overall and was the 6268th woman to cross the line - I was the 800th woman in my age category – so I am not going to win any awards but not bad – next year – I will be in the top 5000 :-)

Time 1hr.26mins.07sec – my aim was 1.15 so definitely next year.

Thank you to those people who have sponsored me - all money going to the Australian Red Cross.

....for Jack anyway. You gotto laugh sometimes.

And it is only a one day course....so maybe I should put it on our list of things to do.

4th September 2008 - a day of birthdays

First off to announce that Gosia and Paul, one of our best best mates had a little girl - Liliana Elizabeth yesterday morning - weighing in at 3.14kg (6.9lbs). So well done and welcome. We are so pleased for them and can't wait to see a photo - Jack reckons she has curly hair so we will see :-)

And she shares it with my cousin Denise (30 again this year apparently) and Yvonne who turned 60 and is looking forward to going on big adventures with her pensioners cheap travel.

So happy birthday everyone......
