Hurrah - VP:PA now has Cert. The Demo is on Live - There's a few minor issues here and there which are being sorted, but essentially its all go. Hurrah.
Lots of training and drawing and concept work is now starting for new projects. Fingers crossed the product sells well - pleasing MS is a big aim for K. From a personal perspective - it would be a good acquisition for MS too. Now - who do I talk to about that...? *LOL*
Well its Friday at work and we're about to have our free fruit and our free Beer at work.... They call it Beer O'Clock. Bit of an Ozzie tradition.

RiverFire and Free Trees
Sorry - I didn't get to post - I lost my password. Damn 21st Century and its confounded paranoid security issues...
The other week Brisbane was celebrating RiverFire. Its a celebration of the life of the river Brisbane and they celebrate it over the course of a week.
Its a pretty spectacular affair and encompasses plenty of Arts and Cinema, Theatre and Music.
One of the high profile events is Riverfire itself. The Cities river bridges are basically stuffed chock full of Fireworks. The International Architecture is also lined with lasers and Fireworks and the whole thing commences with a tremendous roaring as to F11's fly over head dumping tanks of fuel into the atmosphere and setting it alight!
The Fireworks are then syncopated to the music which blares over the city. Its pretty amazing stuff. Audrey and jack and I got to watch it from our friend rented gaff on the river front. He has a floating Jetty and we stood and watched it there.
Another event that I really enjoyed was an environmental one - where we were supposed to plant trees. However, that didn't go as planned as we we're literally hijacked by a group of industrious Japanese who piled out of a Suzuki, legged it to the spades. Dug holes, planted the trees and ran back to the Suzuki and fecked off to where they had collectively materialized from before we even realised what the hell had happened.
It was pretty much a well...non event - thanks to them. Ho hum.
Fortunately we hung about - and we got our BBQ and a settled down to watch Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." I found it didn't reveal anything I didn't know - but it's still shocking all the same. Jack sat for the full duration wrapped up on a chilly evening under the twinkling stars. I thought he'd be bored rigid. But he wasn't. We walked back to the car arms laded with baby trees, native grasses and bushes that they we're handing out at the event. We put them in the car when he piped up - so cutefully five and half:
"Daddy - I don't like CO2. It comes from cars you know and it makes everything hot."
"!!! Really Jack!!? Did you like that film then?"
"Yes Daddy - its naughty what the stinky factories are doing isn't it. But if we plant lots of trees then they'll take the CO2 away. They give us nice air to breathe."
And I thought - Jesus - if a five year old can figure this out... why the hell do we have this problem in the first place....
