How quickly is this year flying past already... there is too much to recap on so here is the highlighted version:
Tasmania - Christmas - only 18degrees and beautiful architecture - Jack and Grandad Ellis and Sal and Jacob got lots of adventure time, while Jim and I got some nice us time and then a bit of the above.
Jimmy enjoyed his time here - didnt miss all that snow one bit..... Jack enjoyed it all too - had a great time except for the jellyfish sting - brave boy..... and no we didnt have to wee on it!!!!!
Jack is back in school - Grade 3 - Mr H - his teacher that makes him laugh - seems to be tough but fair - Jacks still a wriggle bottom in class but is coming on in leaps and bounds.
He has a busy year this year- Communion (even I am doing sunday school - as the teacher) till the event in May, also in May Jacks NAPLAN (like UK SATS) so that should be interesting - unless the teachers decide not to do it because they dont like the new gov. website that rates and shows stats on schools.... and then its Jims big 40 coming up in April (I have plans in place but must keep hush) and Jacks big 8 - he is thinking of laserforce or 10 pin bowling (no more parties at home it seems).
But us now - we have had rain all yesterday - watched Harry Potter again, had a nice family day of slobbing and today no rain so we ventured into Wynnum to have a dip in sea water pool (after mass - the joys of communion - must go from now till end of may every sunday).
Jack is doing a project on Iceland.
Jims project is just about done and onto another - no rest (and he does need it) for the wicked (or those of us with mortgages to pay)
and me - a couple of trade shows in the offing - so possibly NZ, definately Melbourne (can catch up with friends) and local one in Brisbane. So its going ok - hard work and small business again but yep - hanging in there.
Missing people - saving madly to come back to UK etc for Dec but in the meantime - enjoying the little things, trying desperately to not get annoyed and frustrated by the small things and sometimes even succeeding and smiling as much as possible.
PS Oh yeah Jack and I are now also Aussie citizens - one tick off our list - can come and go as we please - and still have other passports too - Jim will get around to it at some point...so he says !!!!!
