Copy cat and how time flies

Jack and I are now in Australia 2 years - last Thursday in fact - I was aware of it and had planned to mark the occasion in some way but it just didn't happen. Is that significant or just indicative of getting on with life.

I think it is the latter.

Although in our heart of hearts we do see ourselves going back to the UK in the future, there is no absolute guarantee of that so on Saturday we went to the open day of one of the high schools - not only are they expensive, each seems to have a slant towards a certain subject or theme - this one leaned towards drama and music. However in the science lab they were making ice cream with liquid nitrogen and cream so Jack felt it was the best thing. But we have other schools to look at over the coming year and then we have to get his name down on a list or two. Only 6, well nearly 7 and we already have to think what he might want, need when he is 11?

Because of the open day Jack missed out on going back to his swimming lesson so on Sunday as a family we spent the afternoon having a laugh at the local pool and then while Jim has a powernap Jack did his project book and I did some cross stitch - how very civilised :-)

There was one bit of bad news - not to be outdone by Jack - my Dad broke his left wrist at work - 6 weeks in plaster. So we wish him well - Jacks reaction was lovely - "oh that's terrible - what colour plaster did he get? " He! He! He!
