Two weeks before Christmas

Hullo - Audrey here....

Jack had his school concert last Friday - the Prep class were dancing to Jailhouse Rock and Rockin Robin with the year 1's. Jack was buzzing afterwards - though admittidly he did forget half the steps, as he was too busy telling his classmates where they were going wrong!

He also posted his rather extensive letter to Father Christmas, with a nice montage of Doctor Who stickers on the back, in a special post box in the city. We the trundled off to Meyer (an expensive House of Fraser type place) and did the free santa train ride. Jack boarded with his Golden Ticket to ride and went round the store three times.

Then onto Southbank where we went to see Asimo (Hondas robot) put on a show. Asimo is an independantly self driven walking robot - about 5 foot tall. It's like a plastic toy, but wierdly all too real. You found your self liking it dispite it joking constantly about the Terminator. Still if somethings going to get you - it might as well be cute Asimo. Jack was very impressed, though Jim and I were just waiting until the next development stage where it is handed a gun by the military and with a joke and a pretend smile guns us all down in a cute but leathal fashion - something quite untrustworthy about a robot so human like.

But with only two weeks left to Christmas, Jack is carefully weighing up how good or naughty he can be so that he still gets presents. On the way home we passed a freight train full of coal, ready for all the naughty children of Brisbane, we announced to Jack. There was a Hell of a lot of coal and as it sped past really fast Jim and I menioned how we spied Jacks name on one of the carraiges. Jack wasn't so sure but he did become ever so helpful for at least an hour
after our return home. Nothing like a 5 year old hedging his bets.....
